I grew up as a commercial setnet salmon fisherman off of Kodiak Island, Alaska, in Uyak Bay.  In 2010, I went to Bristol Bay as a deckhand on the F/V Gyre, a commercial salmon driftnetter.  I've fished as a deckhand for four years, and enjoy both setnetting and driftnetting.  My love for rural communities and desire to create art for and by working class people stems from my childhood and experience as a commercial fisherman in a wild, remote corner of the world.
